Tooth whitening is one of the most popular procedures in esthetic dentistry, and is a method of removing various discolorations from the surfaces of the teeth that change color for a few tones and make the teeth whiter.
Teeth can be painted yellow, brown, greenish, gray and black depending on the cause. The coloration can be internal and external. Most often, patients notice an external staining on the surface of the teeth and the reason is frequent consumption of coffee, tea, black wine, other colored drinks, cigarettes and so on. These patients are potential for the teeth whitening procedure. There are many techniques for teeth whitening, and all techniques use materials whose active substance is hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen) and carbamide peroxide. There are two types of teeth whitening: office whitening and home whitening.
Professional whitening or whitening in the office is performed under the supervision of a dentist and is performed in a practice setting. The procedure takes about an hour and at the end of the procedure the result is already visible.
Whitening at home – This procedure uses specially made molds and professional whitening gels that are lower in concentration than those used in office whitening. Specially made molds and gels would be desirable for 6-8 hours in the mouth, preferably during sleep.
After teeth whitening, patients may experience pain in a transient cold. Patients are advised to avoid cigarettes, coffee, tea and other colored drinks. If the patient adheres to the color guidelines only maintaining the effect achieved is simply and cheaper. This is done with special pastes that the patient can use at home or in the office. Whitening can be repeated every 6-12 months, as needed.
The effective smile corrected by your dentist’s hands is irresistible. The dental porcelain facets in aesthetic dentistry are a top quality preservative alternative that requires tooth preparation. They are thin ceramic shells, permanently adhesively cemented to the tooth structure. The contemporary dental practice has greatly expanded the indications for porcelain tiles, primarily thanks to the promotion of ceramic materials.
The dental porcelain veneers are indicated due to:
– Tooth decay that cannot be corrected by the teeth whitening technique
– Correction of the shape and position of the teeth (curved or retracted teeth)
– Small teeth or large seals
– Diastema closure
– Correction of tooth loss due to mechanical or chemical damage
It is initially determined whether such a procedure is appropriate for the patient. If appropriate then a preparation is made on the outer surface of the tooth tissue to make room for the veneer. After the preparation, a tooth tissue sample is taken and sent to the laboratory. The next stage is the rehearsal test, if the rehearsal is good the veneer is permanently cemented to the tooth surface.
The dental porcelain facets can be used without any problems for the next 10-15 years with regular dental hygiene. The advantage of porcelain floss is that after the treatment the teeth have a natural and aesthetic appearance, are not affected by nicotine, tea and coffee, results with a small preparation of tooth tissue, without reducing the size of the teeth.
The aesthetic sealants replace and restore the structure of damaged tooth tissue by restoring the natural morphology, color and microstructure of the tooth surface. Aesthetic sealants offer a number of benefits over mercury-containing silver amalgams that are considered by many to be toxic. Aesthetic materials can restore and strengthen the teeth.
The aesthetic sealants are placed in patients with:
– Minor or moderate damage to dental tissue – cavities
– Fractured teeth
– Old sealants
– Diastema closure
The intervention involves removing the damaged tooth tissue or, if the patient has an old sealant, removing the old sealant and the resulting cavities below the sealant. Disinfection and cavitation, cavity drying and sealing of molded cavities are then performed. The dry working field is the most important factor for the quality and longevity of the sealant along with well-removed caries.
If the aesthetic sealants are well placed, good oral hygiene sealants can last a long time. Excessive solid food should be avoided as it can damage the filling. In aesthetic tooth reconstructions, the goal is to completely copy the natural shape and color of the tooth, where the morphology of the tooth is shaped with special instruments. This reconstruction fully satisfies the functional state of contact with the upper or lower teeth. Thanks to modern aesthetic dentistry with our materials and methods and the professionalism of your dentist you will have a smile of your dreams.
The modern dentistry uses a variety of building materials for functional and aesthetic reconstruction of the front and lateral teeth with fixed extensions. Thanks to its durability and natural appearance, zirconium crowns are becoming increasingly popular. They are launching a new era in dentistry offering a combination of aesthetics and durability. Zirconium is compatible with teeth and gums that do not cause allergies. It gives a superior appearance because it is naturally white and translucent so it can mimic the translucency of natural teeth. Zirconium gives a safer smile because it has no metal coating on the gums. There are two types of zirconium: solid and highly translucent. Both can be made using CAD CAM technology. These techniques give a precise and unmatched look.
Zirconium can be used in the following situations:
– When the whitening technique cannot achieve results
– Those that previously used a metal ceramic bridge
– In cases where the patient has defects in the dental tissue or large sealants
– When there are atypically rotated teeth and teeth in the dental arch
The procedure involves local application of anesthetic. Then all the surfaces of the tooth tissue are repaired and after the toot trunk is finished, an impression is taken and carried out in a dental technique. The next stage is the zirconium test, if the zirconium is correct it is returned to a technique where its production is continued. The finished zirconium is re-tested in the patient’s mouth and if it passed the process of cementation continues.
The advantage of zirconium crowns is that they have a longer life than metal ceramic crowns because this material is biocompatible and means it is safe to stay in your mouth for a long time. After treatment the patient should maintain maximum hygiene in the oral cavity. After a few days the patient can resume their daily activities.
The implant is considered one of the most modern solutions in the dental practice today. A dental implant is a titanium threaded pillar (imitation of the root of the tooth), which is surgically implanted in the jawbone below the gingival rim, allowing the dentist to place a crown or bridge in that area. Through a process called osteointegration, the implant is fastened to the jawbone. For this process to be successful, the patient must have sufficient bone density and be in good oral health. If the patient’s bone is too thin or soft then it is unable to withstand the implant. In that case, a bone graft should be inserted.
Implants are indicated in patients who have lost one or more teeth. The advantages of dental implants are that they enable:
– Better look – the implants look and feel like their teeth
– Better speech – Enables you to speak without worrying that your teeth may slip
– Easier to eat – dental implants function like natural teeth
– More confidence – dental implants can give you a smile and make you feel better
Maintenance of implants is very important for success. Just as your teeth require conscientious care at home and regular dental visits, so dental implants require the same care. The dental implant improves the quality of life thanks to its strength, ease of use and aesthetic appearance. With proper hygiene and regular dental visits, implants will last for decades, even a lifetime.
The root canal treatment is a dental procedure and is necessary when the pulp (nerve) is inflamed or infected. The pulp disease is one of the most common causes of severe toothache, but the treatment itself is often painless. Under local anesthesia, the inflamed tissue is removed, and the canal is disinfected and filled with a special filling. The intervention is performed in one or more stages, depending on how the tooth is infected.
Inflammation of the pulp usually occurs:
– On teeth that have unmanaged and deep caries
– Under large sealants that are not ideally grazed
– In teeth with very repeated interventions
– Under crowns and bridges as a result of pulp necrosis
– Broken and injured teeth
After this intervention, the teeth regain their natural appearance with aesthetic sealants. Often after this intervention the tooth can change color to yellowish brown, it also becomes dry and brittle and in this case a corona is recommended for proper tooth renewal. With daily care and care of endodontically treated teeth, you can preserve them for the rest of your life.
